The History of Stamps for Evangelism
Welcome to a stamp site with a difference. "Stamps for Evangelism" accepts gifts of used postage stamps from individuals and churches, as well as helping other Christian missions by buying stamps they receive. These are then sold to collectors and dealers – all the money we raise then goes back to Christian organisations. Whether you are a stamp collector looking to add to your collection or a person with stamps to donate you have come to the right place. Please browse our site to find out more, if you have any questions please use the Contact Us page and we will try to help you. When I became a Christian in 1961 whilst living in London living with my parents. My Father said to me that the Society for Distributing Holy Scriptures to the Jews wanted stamps, so I could pass to them the thousands of British stamps I had. This led my wife and I to work part time for that mission for a period of time. In 1965 the Lord led us to move to Derby and the mission S.D.H.S.J. asked us to consider working for them in Derby. However a number of our personal friends working with other missions were having financial problems at the time, so we made it a matter of prayer for three months. Then one day the Lord gave me the privilege of giving me a "Vision from the Lord" in 1965, when He gave me a picture of our name. With a large "S" for a lot of stamps and a small "E" for a small amount of money. At around the same time my wife was given the words "Stamps turned to money – to Lead Souls to Christ". Little did I know that over the years so much money would be available and to be given to missions. Every penny we receive from the sale of these little pieces of paper is passed to evangelistic missions. The Lord has provided sufficient money for me to be able to update our computer to be year 2000 compliant. The Lord takes care of the expenses of this work. PRAISE THE LORD MISSIONS THAT HAVE SOLD STAMPS TO US When the work started we had no plans to buy stamps from other missions. But during the years taking part in the missionary exhibition at Filey, each year different missions would come up to our stand and ask where they could sell their stamps. One year fifteen different missions asked this question. And why we could not purchase their stamps, so when we returned home we both thought that the Lord had been telling us something. So we produced a Buying Price list for evangelistic missions. The more work the mission does, the more money they get for their stamps. With my warm Christian Greetings, Peter Bysh.
